Thursday Tea is a weekly meme hosted by yours truly. To play along, all you need is some tea, a book, and the will to answer some very simple questions: what tea are you drinking (and do you like it)? What book are you reading (and do you like it)? Tell us a little about your tea and your book, and whether or not the two go together.
The tea: I was getting low on my stash of Stash tea, so I ordered some more yummy flavors like today’s: Chai Spice Black Tea. Here’s what Stash says about it:
For our interpretation of this classic Indian drink, we blend rich, flavorful Indian black teas and cinnamon, clove, ginger and cardamom. The brewed tea is very aromatic with a flavor that is slightly sweet, strong and penetrating, with rich, full bodied lingering flavor notes. This tea is very pleasant plain, or with milk (regular or evaporated) and sugar added. It is exceptional any time of day, as a rich morning cup, enjoyable dessert tea or as a special taste treat.
The direction say to add one spoonful of tea and 1oz of milk. I have no idea how to measure out 1oz of milk, but I did the best I could and it came out rather delicious! I think next time I might leave it steeping for a little longer, though; I think it’d taste better even stronger.
The book: Did you know My Side of the Mountain was part of a trilogy? Neither did I! So I spent yesterday rereading MSOTM, and then reading the two newer books: On the Far Side of the Mountain and Frightful’s Mountain. They’re fun little books. Here’s a summary of FM (slight spoiler for On the Far Side of the Mountain):
It is illegal to harbor an endangered bird, so when Frightful returns to Sam, the boy who raised her, he has to chase her away. Frightful doesn’t know how to live alone in the wild, and she can’t feed herself, mate, brood chicks, or migrate. She struggles to survive and gradually learns to enjoy her new freedom. But Frightful feels a bond with Sam that can never be broken, and more than anything else, she wants to return to him.
Do they go together? I’d actually say no. I feel like I should be drinking, like, dandelion tea or something instead.
What are you drinking/reading this Thursday?
