Library Loot meme Library Loot is a weekly meme hosted by Eva and Marg that encourage bloggers to talk about what books they’ve gotten from their library during the week. Anyone can participate any time during the week, so feel free to write up your own post and link it using Eva’s (or Marg’s) Mr Linky!

I went a little nuts this week. About halfway through The Lamp Bearers I realized I love a) historical fiction set in or near the Roman era and b) Rosemary Sutcliff’s books. LOVE. So I went and checked out all the Sutcliff books we have (and that I haven’t read, of course). Ha? I think I’m going to start with The Silver Branch, since it’s supposed to come between The Eagle of the Ninth and The Lantern Bearers, which I’ve already read. The others I found near the YA section, and they look like interesting, out-of-print books that are hopefully good reads.

  5. Just about all Rosemary Sutcliff’s books are good reads, but I am, as a relative who had the good fortune to grow up knowing her and her books, rather a biased reader and commentator. But she does not have an international reputation for nothing, and the over a million purchasers let alone borrowers of The Eagle of the Ninth must know something …!
