Book Trailer Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by me, Anastasia. It’s very simple to play along: find a particularly awesome book trailer, embed it in a post, then proceed to coo all over it. Or, y’know, talk about whatever you want to talk about. Why did this book trailer catch your eye? Why do you want to share it with people? Did it make you want to read the book? Why was it effective (or not)?
I nearly didn’t have anything to post again! I wanted to stick more to newer trailers for this meme, but there haven’t been any new ones that I like (and that I haven’t already posted about) for a while. So here’s an older one instead, from August:
It’s Jasper Dash and the Flame-Pits of Delaware by M.T. Anderson! And it was actually published last month, so it’s not that old. Actually.
And, okay, it’s a scan-and-pan illustrated video, but those aren’t all bad (I liked Leviathan’s trailer, remember), and this one is funny and quirky, so it passes. I like the narrator– he sounds like he does movie trailers for action flicks– and I like the quirky story and the art. It’s cute, and if I liked Mr Anderson’s books more I’d totally read this one.
What are you watching this Tuesday?

Hey, great pick, other book trailer buddy. Scan and pan – I didn’t know that term before.
Here’s my post:

Okay, why are so few people interested in book trailer tuesday?

Anastasia
I have two theories:
a) they’re awed by how COMPLETELY AWESOME WE ARE and that makes them silent. With awe.
b) they don’t pay attention to the meme posts because they don’t like book trailers/don’t understand them/don’t see what the point of them is.
I suppose this means I’ll have to finish writing my “why book trailers are a good thing” post, which is basically like your post today except with more exclamation marks.

LOL. Can I go with both A and B? Looking forward to your post next week, and I thought your comment on mine about the audience was really interesting.
