The Sunday Salon.com I have got a really busy week at school coming up, so I’m going to take a small blogging break. That means I won’t be posting anything for…probably at least a week. Next week is a little bit less busy and so I can post more, but for at least this week I’d like not to have to worry about doing memes and reviews and things.

It would have been slow this week anyway because it’s taking me a while to get through Linotte, that diary of Anais Nin’s that I talked about Thursday. Not because I don’t like it, or because it’s boring, but just because I don’t want to rush and finish it all at once. I really, really like Linotte, and I want to be able to enjoy it. I’m about halfway through now, and it’s getting better and better. Anais is annoying me much less, especially since she even wrote (when she was 14-15) that the way she acted when she was younger (11-ish) was silly and ridiculous. I’m so glad she realized that, lol!

Have you ever deliberately slowed down on reading a book because it was so good?

Interesting posts and other things that have caught my eye this week. It isn’t actually everything, since I didn’t want to kill myself copy-pasting, so for the entire link collection check out my Delicious page.

And now, I present to you, my readers: Awesome Post Full of Links #14: November 29-December 5!

Books in General

  • Mattins: A micropodcast of daily readings | booktwo.org
“Mattins is a daily reading, every weekday, no more than 5 minutes long.”
  • Snail Mail Novel Serialization – mediabistro.com: GalleyCat
“Author Nicholas Rombes will publish “Nightmare Trails at Knifepoint” in a series of inventive mailings. The Rumpus has more details: “Rombes is publishing NTaK via the U.S. Postal Service. Not online. Not on his Facebook page. But stuffed into small manila envelopes, addressed by hand, with personal messages typed out on old hotel stationary and delivered right to your doorstep.”"
  • The Sunday Salon: It Isn’t What You Read–It’s How You Read
“It isn’t that I believe that there isn’t a standard of craft or artistic element to books. I definitely prefer books I feel to be well written. I can be really picky about that. But that’s me. When it comes to words like value and worth and the best use of the days of your life, I can’t in absolute terms tell you which books you should be reading.”

Win an ARC of Sisters Red plus Will Grayson, Will Grayson PLUS one other surprise prize!
