It’s hard to fight the competitive thing isn’t it, I’m thinking about disabling my stats finder widget but then I’d miss the link backs unless I set up and checked google alerts (effort). I’m so glad I found your blog in 2009, especially with your link round ups.

Great resolutions for 2010! Your bottom line goal sounds like mine — not worrying about being a “great” blogger like everyone else and just letting my (new) blog reflect me. That contest you talk about is what led me to leaving my old blog behind and starting with a clean slate where I don’t have to worry about stats, comments, and having a certain # of posts.

I’ve read books by both Roald Dahl and Scott Westerfeld, but I’m off to check out your other favorites of the past year as I’ve never heard of any of them before.

Sounds like you had a great year! I loved Leviathan too, and I really want to read The Monstrumologist and The Lightning Thief!

Aw, thanks so much! I definitely found myself falling into the “I have to be the BEST” mindset, mostly in the number of books read area (“this person read 200 books? Well then I’ll have to read 201!!”) and that’s not really where I want to be. So hopefully by telling myself take a chill pill, I’ll get some quality reading done and I’ll have fun doing it. Of course, it’s super easy to tell myself that, and another thing entirely to actually go through with it!
