Just a quicky post this time, as I’ve become distracted by Victoriana and need to spend the rest of my free time this weekend reading up on fashion trends and the hypocrisy of the rich. Remember last week? With my list of books I was going to read? Only ended up reading one. Bah. And now I have to go back to school and take tests. BAH.
I did get my hands on a really good audiobook series, though, the ones for the Enchanted Forest chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede. They were produced by Bruce Coville, I think, or at least he’s involved in some way, and they’re really good. It’s a cast reading the books instead of just one person, and it actually works really well. I especially like it because all the men sound like men and all the women sound like women (because they are!), something that tends to bother me when it’s just one person reading a book. Anyway, I can’t wait to write the review for the series– I’m just going to do one for all of them– because besides the fantastic production of the audio the books themselves are really great, too! Should be a fun post to write, I think.

Currently reading:
Halith by Kirsten Kelly, which I got from the publisher. It’s a fantasy book set in an alternate world, with a warrior girl who has some fancy destiny she’s gotta figure out. So far I’m enjoying it, though I have a few problems with the world construction and keeping track of the time changes. I’m only 70 or so pages into it and it’s over 400 pages long, so I’m hoping it’ll start fixing itself soon.
