The book: I have been so lax about reading this week– too busy planning for BEA and NYC! But I’ve started reading The Reluctant God by Pamela F. Service. a YA fantasy/sci-fi kind of novel that mixes modern stuff with ancient Egyptian stuff. It’s really fun so far! Although I haven’t moved very far into it because of the not-reading things. I think I’m on the second chapter; so far we’ve been introduced to the modern kid and the ancient Egyptian kid, and now we’re learning more about ancient Egyptian life.
The tea: I feel like I should be drinking something exciting and special since this is the week before BEA, but all I’m really drinking is some raspberry tea I found at the back of the cupboard. I haven’t had raspberry in ages; it used to be my favorite before I rediscovered Earl Grey.
Do they go together? Yes and no: no because of the ancient Egyptian thing, where I’m pretty sure tea didn’t exist for them (although they did drink beer), but yes because of the modern aspect to the story, where tea must exist even if no-one’s drunk any yet. I’m not sure where the raspberry part comes in.
